CAD Technician – All levels considered

Background: Architecture/Engineering/Surveying

Work Balance: Office-based (Henley-on-Thames), flexible working from home available

Position Summary:

We’re looking for an experienced AutoCAD Technician with relevant experience who is keen to join our fast growing surveying company documenting as-built information of some incredible homes and properties from all over the UK. 

The role requires someone who is proficient using AutoCAD in 2D to generate as-built drawings from 3D laser scanned point cloud data.  Don’t worry, we can train you to do this if you’ve not worked in the Point cloud before!

Main Duties:

  • Supporting the Lead Surveyor in ensuring all technical drawings are provided on time and to the quality expected of an XPS survey drawing
  • Post-processing laser scan data (training provided)
  • Plotting drawings in 2D AutoCAD (plans, elevations, sections, topographical information)
  • Maintaining databases and filing systems 
  • Liaising with staff, suppliers and clients 
  • Attend Weekly team meetings/ Review/ Growth strategy contribution

Key Skills:

  • Technical drawing in residential property experience essential
  • Proficient in AutoCAD
  • Good organisation, communication and file management skills
  • Technologically savvy with good working knowledge in Microsoft Office and Google Drive
  • Discretion and trustworthiness
  • Work both autonomously and part of a team

Salary: £22k – £30k (Dependant on experience)

Head of Surveying – Measured Buildings and Land

Background: 10+ years in the Building Measurement / Topographical Surveys industry

Position Summary:

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual at a senior level who is keen to grow with the business and head up the operations and delivery of our surveys. The team already consists of the two Founders, a Business Manager, and three Surveyors.

Main duties:

  • Managing and supporting the junior surveying team (in-house and outsourced) in ensuring all technical drawings are provided on time and to a high standard
  • Undertaking surveys using modern survey instruments such as Leica Total Stations, GNSS equipment and Trimble X7
  • Plotting drawings on AutoCAD and REVIT (plans, elevations, sections, topographical information)
  • Co-ordinating all surveys in the business with a birds-eye view across all the team
  • Ability to train people and promote surveying best practices. Ultimately be responsible for future CAD/BIM standards and quality assurance processes within the company
  • Liaising with staff, suppliers and clients in a professional manner
  • Attend Weekly team meetings/ Review/ Growth strategy contribution

Key Skills:

  • Proficient in AutoCAD and the use of processing platforms such as LSS, N4ce, Cyclone, and Trimble Realworks and Business Center
  • REVIT experience is a bonus
  • Member of RICS
  • Good organisation, communication and file management skills
  • Technologically savvy with good working knowledge in Microsoft Office and Google Drive
  • Discretion and trustworthiness
  • Work both autonomously and part of a team
  • The ability to take on responsibility and make decisions

REVIT CAD Technician (Scan-to-BIM)

Background: 3+ years in the Building Measurement / Topographical Surveys industry

Position Summary:

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with a solid understanding of Point cloud data capture to REVIT output. The team already consists of the two Founders, a Business Manager, and three Surveyors.

Main duties:

  • Point Cloud manipulation and Scan-to-BIM outputs in REVIT to produce plans, elevations, sections, topographical information
  • Use of AutoCAD to accompany the above
  • Undertaking surveys using 3D laser scanning equipment (Trimble X7)
  • Post-processing of captured point cloud data
  • Liaising with staff, suppliers and clients in a professional manner
  • Attend Weekly team meetings
  • Future progression route: Ability to train people and promote surveying best practices using PointCloud/REVIT outputs. Be responsible for 3D CAD/BIM standards and quality assurance processes within the company

Key Skills:

  • Proficient in AutoCAD and REVIT and the use of processing platforms such as LSS, Cyclone and Trimble Realworks and Business Centre
  • Member of RICS, not essential
  • Good organisation, communication and file management skills
  • Technologically savvy with good working knowledge in Microsoft Office and Google Drive
  • Discretion and trustworthiness
  • Work both autonomously and part of a team

Salary: £27,000.00-£35,000.00 per year

Graduate Measured Building Surveyor / CAD Technician

Background: 1+ years in the Building Measurement / Topographical Surveys industry

Main duties: 

  • On-site scanning of buildings and land. TRAINING WILL BE PROVIDED
  • Processing of total-station, laser scanning and GPS information including scan data capture registration – Liaising with clients through the project lifecycle. TRAINING WILL BE PROVIDED
  • Plotting drawings on AutoCAD/REVIT from scan data
  • REVIT modelling experience a bonus but not a necessity
  • Managing databases and filing systems
  • Liaising with staff, suppliers and internal team

Key Skills: 

  • Proficient in AutoCAD
  • Must drive and have own vehicle (expenses paid)
  • Good organisation, communication and file management skills
  • Technologically savvy with good working knowledge in Microsoft Office and Google Drive
  • Discretion and trustworthiness
  • Work both autonomously and part of a team
  • The ability to take on responsibility and make decisions

Salary: £21,000.00-£24,000.00 per year
