Choosing a lower-cost survey provider may seem like a good way to save money, but it can often lead to costly issues down the line. Here’s what you risk:
1. Inaccurate Data & Manual Errors
Cheap surveys often use outdated equipment or manual methods, leading to errors in measurements. Even a small inaccuracy can result in:
2. Additional Expenses Due to Rework
If your survey is inaccurate, you may have to pay for a second survey, doubling your costs and delaying your project.
3. Lack of Detail
Budget providers may cut corners by omitting essential details such as:
This missing data can cause unexpected problems in the later stages of design and construction.
4. No CAD Layering & Poor Deliverables
Many lower-cost providers deliver raw or incomplete data that isn’t structured for CAD integration, making it harder for architects and engineers to work with.
5. Risk of Non-Compliance
Surveys that don’t meet industry standards can lead to:
6. Limited or No Support
Cheaper firms often don’t offer post-survey support. If you have questions or need adjustments, you may be left without assistance.

What is a measured survey?
A measured survey is a process which involves taking the exact measurements of buildings and sites. We offer measured building surveys using equipment accurate to +/- 2mm. The results of these measured surveys are represented through drawings which can be referred to throughout the lifecycle of a building.
How long does a measured survey take?
A measured survey can be booked within 48 hours of getting in touch with us (subject to availability). We require 1 full day for properties up to 5 bedrooms. Properties of 5 bedrooms or more will take at least 1 day.
How much does a measured survey cost?
The price will vary depending on the size of the property, location and level of survey required. You can quickly get a quote for your exact needs by using our Instant Online quote tool at the top of this page.
What is a 3D point cloud?
Point cloud equipment is used to scan and measure every single point of your building or site to create pinpoint accurate 3D models. We use the latest high-tech, high-spec equipment to ensure accuracy each time.
What are as-built 2D drawings?
Using 3D point cloud technology, we produce 2D floor plans, elevations and sections based on the real-life measurements taken during the as-built survey.
As-builts are useful as a reference for property owners, and occupiers, and for architects drawing up re-modelling construction plans.
How can 360° imagery help me with my project?
360° imagery puts a virtual site tour within your reach at all times. We capture 360-degree images using our top-of-the-line scanning equipment. 360° images save you time and resources, as you can visit the site whenever you need without travelling.
What locations do you cover?
Our team typically do measured site surveys across Greater London and the Home Counties, including Surrey, Oxfordshire, Hertfordshire and Berkshire, however we can cover a national geographic reach.
Where can I see your prices list?
